The SELF Curriculum

Already at a disadvantage in a regular classroom for any number of reasons, perhaps lacking age appropriate social skills, LD folks can be excused for thinking that school is a battle zone. And yet, they return to the fray each morning. If they are fortunate, they find a skill or interest which fortifies their self image. Since many LD folks are visual learners, the arts are a natural environment for them. Over the past few years I've developed a method of teaching I call the SELF curriculum. The gist is as follows:
              S- Skills Development
              E- Evaluation via Critiques
              L- Language Development
              F- Fun Activities
