Language Development

Art, I keep telling my students, is all about communicating ideas. The old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" is a compliment to the artist only if the proper words are associated with the art. This is problematic for students with language development deficits, so the SELF Curriculum incorporates language development strategies within lessons promoting skills development in art.
